Upcoming
Hey TC Family, As you know, tomorrow is the Grace Place Coldest Night of the Year walk. As of today, it looks like we have reached our team goal of $5000.00! Wow! This is a great cause; wouldn't it be great to surpass this goal and help Grace Place beat their goal of $ 90,000? Click the link below to either give or join the team. The TC team is meeting at Summit Church at 4 PM to begin our 5K trek around the city. Jeff Riley A few weeks ago, I announced in our service that Jeff Riley had passed away. This has been a difficult time for Bob and Arlene and our church family. Jeff was a part of Faith Chapel before they joined TC; he has been around since the beginning and is already missed. On Saturday, March 2nd, we are going to gather for a memorial service at 11 AM at the Transformation Church building. All are welcome. Please keep Bob, Arlene, Jeff's son Cody, and his family in your prayers.

Be a BereanService "If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself; you are not that important." - Galatians 6:3 That is quite the verse, eh? I love the bluntness of that statement. It gives you an idea of where we are headed this coming Sunday. This Sunday, we will be talking about service. In the world, the higher you climb on the ladder of success, the less serving you will do. However, in Jesus' kingdom, it is the opposite. The higher you climb in Jesus' kingdom, the more serving you will do. Think of Jesus in John 13; He has revealed to His disciples that He is God in the flesh, literally, the creator of the universe and then the very next action on his part is to wrap a towel around His waist and wash the feet of His disciples, a job reserved for the lowliest slaves! Jesus then goes on to say, "I have done this for you; now, this is what I want you to do for each other!" This weekend, read Mark 10:35-45. In this passage, James and John see Jesus' popularity rising. Crowds are drawn to Him like bees to pollin. James and John are convinced Jesus is going to be a highly successful military and political leader, and they want seats at the table. But Jesus corrects their thinking. He reminds them that high leadership positions in Jesus' kingdom mean more suffering and service. Bonus points. Have you ever heard the term, The Messianic Secret? In the book of Mark, Jesus is constantly telling people and demons not to tell anyone who He is; He does not want His identity revealed before the right time. Do you know why that is? Have you ever thought about it? Spend some time digging into this question. Why didn't Jesus want anyone to know His true identity in Mark's Gospel? Do some research; we are going to talk about it on Sunday. I can't wait to gather and worship our king with you on Sunday, Pastor Nathan |
