A month ago we launched a new teaching series called: Being a Diverse Church. But due to travel, we have delayed the series. This Sunday we are going to get back into that series. Over the next 4 Sundays, we are going to look at what the Scriptures teach us about four categories of diversity:
1. Generational Diversity (young and old)
2. Ethnic Diversity (Black, White, and everything in between)
3. Socioeconomic Diversity (Rich and poor)
4. Ideological Diversity (Right, wrong, and the blurry middle)
It is the desire of Jesus that we would be a diverse church. Normally people are divided over ethnic, generational, socioeconomic, and ideological differences. But this is not so in the church of Jesus Christ, He has called us to be one. In fact, He prayed that we would experience the same kind of unity God experiences within the trinity!
This week we are going to look at 2 Timothy 1:1-14 and listen to what God is saying to us about how young and old can experience a beautiful unity. Take some time this week to read, pray about and reflect on that passage of Scripture.
