This week we will be reading from Daniel 1 and will be talking about how Daniel was abducted from his homeland and forced to serve a foreign king who worshipped foreign gods.
There were two prophets during this time in history. One of them had a message that went something like this: "Secular culture is evil, stay away!" And the other said: "Embrace where you are, but honor God." This part of the story can be found in Jeremiah 28 & 29. Daniel chose to listen to the second prophet. We are going to look at how Daniel embraced his new, secular culture, but was stubbornly faithful to God.
