Be A BereanThe Bible portrays a life with God that is much more than a message, much more than getting a word from God. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. (Gal 2:20) And when Christ, who is your life... (Col 3:4) Remain in me, and I will remain in you. (John 15:4) Intrinsically, we think we must try to get near God. We must get a message from Him. While these things are true, we often lose sight of the glorious picture of life with God. Christ lives in you. Could this truth revolutionize our prayer lives? (For that matter our whole life?) Do we settle for something small in our prayer lives that falls so short of God's glorious design? If you are following in the book, check out Chapter seven. This is the last week that I'll be using the book, so this is your chance to finish the whole book. Blessings, |

Missions UpdateWe are privileged to support Grace Place in their work in the City of Thunder Bay. Read Pastor Melody's latest update. Grace Place celebrated their 19th year anniversary in July and marvel at what the Lord has done. Construction on our new 1,750-foot expansion has increased space and the ability to react to the needs of the community. Grace Place serves a community meal 5 days a week, Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and welcomes everyone who would love to volunteer to help prepare the meal, serve, and sort clothing in our Free Store. There are plenty of opportunities to Grow as you Go. Grace Place has gone into its 10th season of offering the Out of the Cold program. The program began Oct 1st and will run until April 30th. The Out of the Cold program at Grace Place is a safety net for the homeless who can’t access any other shelter in the City of Thunder Bay. Intake begins each night 7 nights a week at 9:00pm and runs until 8:00am. We offer a hot meal; a hot breakfast and we give clients a bagged lunch to go. We offer 30 beds and 10 overflow spaces. We have begun with a roaring start and we have been full each night, a first for the OOTC. Our greatest need at Grace Place is prayer and volunteers who know Jesus. Light always overcomes the darkness and Grace Place seeks to be a lighthouse of hope even during the darkest of times. As we embark on hosting hundreds of homeless people during this upcoming winter, please join us in prayer and the privilege of serving the poor. Drop by, or go to our website and learn how to volunteer and be a part of the GO! Gather Grow Go!!! |
