God provided miraculous bread every morning for the people of Israel in their desert wanderings, which gave them temporary relief from hunger and temporary life. Now God has given us Living Bread from heaven that gives permanent relief from hunger and permanent, eternal life. Jesus invites us to come and participate in His life, and receive His lifegiving presence, receiving the Spirit of life and receiving daily “manna”, fellowshipping with Him and drawing on Him for the abundant life that He said that He came to give.
Jn 6.35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty… 47 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. 48 Yes, I am the bread of life! 49 Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. 50 Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die.”
