Moses is Dead
If that title is not an attention-getter, I don't know what is!
This week in preparation for Sunday take some time to read and prayerfully ponder Joshua chapter 1. In this chapter, God tells Joshua, "Moses is dead." Joshua knew that, the Israelites knew it too, so why did God say it?
The Israelites had been under Moses' leadership for 40 years, and now he was gone and God had installed a new leader. Joshua was God's chosen leader for the next leg of Israel's journey and God was instructing the people to embrace this new season and follow Joshua's lead.
This week I want to dig into Joshua 1 and talk a bit about what it was like for the Israelites to embrace a new leader and a new season. When leaders change, and seasons change it can be so difficult and disruptive. However, change is a part of the story of God and He has instructions in His word about what that should look like in our lives and the ministries we are a part of.
